Restless leg syndrome can be a puzzling condition and is not always easy to treat. There seem to be two different sets of symptoms, the first one is shooting pain or cramps in your lower limbs that are usually worse at night and often accompanied with numbness. The next one is periodic spasm in your legs and they sometimes seem to have a life of their own.
It is often caused by biochemical imbalance; something that you are eating that doesn’t agree to you or a vital vitamin, mineral or nutrient you are lacking. A classic cause is a shortage of folic acid. Some drugs can interfere with the amount of folic acid you absorb, including H2 blockers for stomach problems, the pill and even ordinary aspirin, which is ironic if you are taking it to ease the pain of cramping.
