"It does not burn calories for 20 minutes of sport ..." This is a statement that I heard in the locker room of my gym before yesterday, and I cannot help but make a comment.
Here, I think there is a misunderstanding and confusion especially between calories and fat!
It is true that in the first minutes of physical activity, the body tends to use the reserve carbohydrates (i.e. sugar fast and slow) to produce energy. But with the power there is necessarily expenditure of calories.
In contrast, after 30 to 40 minutes, the energy source of the body is primarily fat. That is why we say that it does not burn fat until at least 40 minutes of sport. Nothing is to do with calories.
