In vitro fertilization is one of the advanced technologies to help a woman to get pregnant. In cases of infertility, which is the inability of becoming pregnant, this method is adopted. It is one of the revolutionary methods. In the natural process, the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the womb and continues to grow. After this, a baby is born about 9 months later. All these take place inside the women’s body. This process is called natural or unassisted conception. Whereas, in this IVF method, after taking suitable test, the women will take two weeks of intensive preparation. Then the female’s egg will retrieved from the ovary using a needle through the vaginal wall. Then this women’s egg and her partner’s sperm will be placed together in a plastic dish or a test tube through which the fertilization is made to take place artificially. The resulting embryo is then transferred in to the uterus of the women’s body to implant and to allow the growth of the child naturally. This process has lighted the life of many families who are infertile to have a child. Because of this method nearly 250,000 babies had been born so far.
